2004
Support of a primary school in the Laikipia region began
in 2004 when the Cronhelm family visited Kenya after Michael passed away. Their first contribution to the school was new school uniforms for 80 children, sports equipment and educational
materials.
2009
In 2009, after careful consideration and
consultation with the Daasanach Tribe in Ileret, construction began of a one room library in Ileret as a memorial to Michael. The library not only serves as a place of learning for
children but also as a vital institution for all of the Daasanach community. The library was finished and opened to the Daasanach community in September 2010.
2012
Liza Cronhelm started a preschool in the grounds of the library.
2014
We started supporting El Bokoch School.
2015 - present
Our Foundation has ownership of El Bokoch School and is responsible for all operations. To date we have built four new classrooms and have plans in June 2017 to build
a further two classrooms and a library ~ thus in time making the school a dual primary and high school.
