HISTORY

Support of a primary school in the Laikipia region began in 2004 when the Cronhelm family visited Kenya after Michael passed away.  Their first contribution to the school was new school uniforms for 80 children, sports equipment and educational materials.

Their latest project in 2009, after careful consideration and consultation with the Daasanach Tribe in Ileret, is the construction of a one room library as a Memorial to Michael.  Ileret is one of the most isolated communities in Kenya situated at the northern end of Lake Turkana and 17 kilometers from the Ethiopian boarder.  The library will not only serve as a place of learning for children but also as a vital institution for all of the Daasanach community.
